April showers bring forth May flowers
Sacraments
April was a busy month for the Sacrament classes with the sixth classes receiving the sacrament of confirmation and the 2nd classes receiving their first Holy Communion this week. Congratulations to all the children and thank you to the priests of the Parish for their help in supporting the children and teachers.
Kilmainham Gaol
Some of the sixth classes had the opportunity to visit Kilmainham gaol this month. Kilmainham Gaol is a former prison but is now a museum. Many Irish revolutionaries, including the leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising, were imprisoned and executed in the prison.
Spelling Bee
Ben from 6th represented the school in the County Final of the Eason Spelling Bee which was hosted by our school. He did really well and should be very proud of his performance. Some of the teachers were tested by the spellings involved. Thanks to Mr. McKeown for coaching Ben.
